Some sessions are extra special and Grace and Eily’s best friend senior session was exactly that.
These two decided to do their senior photos together, and honestly… no brainer. You save on costs, get gorgeous individual senior portraits and photos with your best friend that you’ll treasure forever. Senior year is already such a bittersweet season so why not document it side by side with the person who’s been there through it all?

We headed to Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, MA for a golden hour session in August, which sounds dreamy because it absolutely was. What we didn’t fully anticipate? Apparently everyone and their brother had the exact same idea. Families, couples, other seniors, photographers everywhere… if there was a meaningful moment to be captured, it was happening on that beach that night. And honestly… who could blame them? Wingaersheek is stunning. Soft sand, rolling dunes, glowing light, it’s one of those places that just delivers every single time.
Grace and Eily brought the best energy from the moment we started. Total hype girls for each other, constant encouragement, laughs between shots… the kind of dynamic that makes my job feel like hanging out instead of working. While they were in front of the camera being absolute pros, their moms hung back keeping an eye on all the bags, shoes, and outfit changes (unsung heroes, truly).

Speaking of outfits, these girls understood the assignment. Each of them brought three outfit changes, and every look fit their personal style perfectly. From breezy beach vibes to more polished looks, the variety we captured was so fun and really allowed their personalities to shine both individually and together.

As we shot, we chatted about school, senior year, and activities. That’s when I learned one of them is a golfer and the other a cheerleader. Instant bonding moment for me, since I was also a golfer and a cheerleader back in my day (said in full old lady voice, of course). It’s always one of my favorite parts of senior sessions, connecting over the things that make this season of life so full.

Now, real talk: the session didn’t start quite as planned. A surprise pop-up shower rolled through and delayed us a bit, which could’ve been stressful, but these girls rolled with it like champs. The rain cleared, the clouds softened, and just like that… golden hour showed up right on cue. We got the warm light, the dreamy glow, and the sunset they were hoping for and honestly, it felt even sweeter knowing we had to wait for it.

Grace and Eily’s session is such a perfect example of why best friend senior sessions are pure magic. More fun, more laughter, built-in confidence boosts, and memories that go way beyond photos. And when you pair that with a gorgeous location and golden light? That’s a senior session you’ll never forget.
